Judge Craig

Allright, one more post for tonight... Just live traced this sucker in, though I had to have spent just as much time cleaning it up than it would have took me to draw it. You do get some cool rough corners and a boxeyness to it when using live trace.
Anyways, Allie was talking about coming to Tyler to hang out and meet up with your friend who's taking some test here? Well I remember her saying the 8th of some month, was this something ya'll were planning on or just a thought?
Enjoy

We got space!

So I finally remember how to get to my old man's webhost. Check your email for login instructions.

Here's a pretty pretty picture to brighten this blog up, my friend Steffy made it. Nice colors

David's Tuesday

it's early in the day, so I may post another, but so far I doodled around in illustrator, mostly to no avail. Got one good character out of it so far, albeit no fills yet. stupid gradients. refer to email if you haven't already.

in your guy below, the outside outlines are all really thick, and inside not so much. Is that because you drew it that way and so live trace picked up on it? Or did you go in and change the stroke for those lines? And if so, remind me how to select just those lines..

You seem to do that with most of your characters, and I really like it. And although I don't think we should necessarily try to exactly match each others styles, I think there should be some similar conventions we use to make our work cohesive and relate to each other. And I think that little element might make my work pull together with yours, while still retaining my style.

Every blog post looks better with an image. So I Google imaged "cute" and this is the image I chose. This is a band named, "Cute Is What We Aim For." Kill me now.

Monday's Post

Even though it's technically Tuesday. I traced up another character, then scanned in a couple more. Don't feel like posting them yet, not very polished. me go bed now.

Poop!

I used some very simple gradient fills to flesh out this simple line drawing, I think our small B&W comics could benifit from this. It doesn't take as long as drawing shadows and it will print from a laser printer just fine.
Oh, and speaking of, that laser I was talking about is on sale for $69 this week, if I had money I'd buy it.

Diaeresis

def. a diacritical mark (two dots) placed over a vowel in German to indicate a change in sound.

I assume I used the same method you did oh so many years ago in the first place, Character Map baby!

Holy Crap!

You put the umlaut (or whatever) over the O in Roy. Excellent!! How do you do that?

Yup, got Illustrator up.

So Today I scanned some drawings and live traced em up. Meet Sloppy, Weirdhead, Wardo, Ghast, BullitDog, Bumpy, Headwig, and Depressedasshole. These are all working names, nothing final. Now that they have a home on my computer they are all going to get together and have an orgy. Because nothing says orgy like these guys!

Roy's Daily Post

So I spent some time today collecting a bunch of drawings and scanning them in, I think I'll start keeping a small sketchpad handy for when I'm bored. Did you ever get Illustrator up and running on your PC?

Play with my Settings!

so yeah, dick around on here for awhile, play with the settings and templates and such.

Daily Comic 1

So yeah, here's a little comic. It sucks, but you get the idea. I made this a couple days before you came over, so it doesn't show off my new Illustrator prowess. Also, if I remember correctly, the comic is going to be too small to read on this blog. I'll play with it later and figure it out. Maybe the image file is extremely small.

Hi Roy!

Hello Roy! This is our new blog! Try it out.
